Stress Management: Take a Break - Take a Nintendo DS Break

Take a Nintendo DS Break

Here are Study Guide Directory, I believe it is important to take a break, and relax for a while. So I have been gathering resources on the internet, to help you do just that. Sit back and relax, grab a cup of your favourite drink and take some well-deserved time out.

Don't have a Nintendo DS yet? Don't worry. There are cheap and affordable versions available online. Taking a break has never been more fun!

Nintendo DS (and other Video Games)

Have you been bitten by the Nintendo DS bug? If not, now is the time to look into getting one, or upgrading to the newest version of the console. There is a 3DS Nintendo console available for 3D gaming, the DSi and the DS XL. Later on in this post, I provide links to top special offers on the Nintendo DS consoles. So don't miss out! I think they’re a great way to unwind and relax, to take a well-earned and deserved break between studying or for a longer spell of video-gaming. You won’t find the kind of quality games you can get on the Nintendo DS for free online. (I've searched)
They are also a great reward for post-exam relaxation and as a reward.

There are some great games, it is the range of game that cuts it. No matter who you are, you will find a game that is right for you. The Nintendo DS console is a brilliant way to take a short or long break. And they are perfect for seasoned video-gamers or novices alike.
I always take a look at Amazon for Nintendo DS games as they are always packed with low-price, cheap, and affordable Nintendo DS or other platform video/computer games.

I have included the Amazon UK and Amazon US links for ease of reference. International shipping is available for those in Europe, Africa, Australia, the Middle East, Asia, South America and other locations. So those outside the UK and US can still benefit from the deals. Please refer to Amazon’s Help section of their website for more details.

There is a very wide range of games available, as I said, no matter who you are, you will find something that you want to play. Brain Games, Action, Adventure, Puzzle, Art, Virtual Pet, Food, Strategy, Hidden Object and much more.

Stress Management: Stress Relief Tips for Exam Stress (Part 1)

Prior to your exam you may be feeling nervous, and when it comes to sitting in the exam room you may be concerned about finding ways of managing exam stress. Use the stress relief tips and resources below to make sure you perform at your best.

Please refer to Stress Management: How to Overcome Exam Stress

The best way to stay relaxed before an exam:

1. Relax the night before. Leave studying and revising, if you want to do anything, stick to reviewing index cards or any other type of brief notes. Avoid doing anything that will make you feel panicky. Take a bath, watch a film or your favourite tv series, listen to calming music, anything that helps you relax.

2.Make sure you get enough sleep. It is recommended to sleep 7-8 hours per day. Try to get this amount of sleep before the exam. Ideally, you should have a regular time that you go to sleep and wake up prior to the exam itself.

3.Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and drink water. I am sure you have come across this advice before, but it really is vital to stay healthy before and during exams. You don’t have to abandon less healthy foods, but just make sure you keep a good intake of fresh food and maintain a balanced diet. Try to avoid coffee and caffeine in some fizzy drinks, instead try green teas or fruit teas.

4. Do some of the breathing and relaxation exercises linked to in Stress Management: Stress Relief Tips for Exam Stress (Part 2), the night before the exam, and during the exam.

5. Try to avoid talking to other students about the subject matter or how much you have revised just before the exam. Any nervousness and anxiousness from other students can unsettle and leave you feeling less calm. Asking other students how much revision they have done is not really necessary just before the exam, and likely to make you feel that you should have done more.

6. After the exam do not worry about how well you did or whether what you did was right. Talk about it briefly if you need to and then move onto your next exam. There is nothing you can do about the exam you have just completed.

Further Resources for Managing Exam Stress

The fifth tip on the above link is not what I advised earlier, and my advice would be to avoid talking to other students too much. However, do what you feel most comfortable with and what suits your personality.

Good Luck!

Stress Management: How to Overcome Exam Stress

All students at one time or another have experienced stress as a result of exams, revision or studying. It is inevitable. When it comes to exams, the pressures of remembering vast quantities of information, knowing that the exams results will count for what you can do for the rest of your life, and the nature of exams themselves makes the exam season a very stressful time for a lot of students. (This resource on Stress Management can be used at any time during studying) All of this leaves many students feeling stressed out.

The best way to combat stress is to know the symptoms and then know how to overcome stress with simple stress management techniques that work for you.

4. Overcome Stress, De-Stress and Relax with Aromatherapy

Music

Music is known to have a powerful ability to relax the mind. This can be a track from your favorite artist or the sounds of nature. If you feel you have done particularly well in your revision use the opportunity to reward yourself with your favorite MP 3 track or a relaxation CD. You can listen to it either whilst working if that is what works for you or you can choose to use your breaks as a time to play music and relax.

Video Games

If you like Video Games do not starve yourself of them. Build them into your breaks and just make sure you do not use them to procrastinate. Taking some time out to play more of that pc or console game you have been hankering to play can be the relaxing time out you need.
